The Story of the Crane and Turtle
According to legend, flood covered the lands in a remote Asian village. A crane flying with no place to rest and ready to collapse spotted a turtle surfacing from the water. Offering the crane a place to rest until the flood waters receded, the turtle saved his life. Years later, during a severe drought, the crane returned the favor by flying the turtle to the nearest water.

This truly met all of my expectations. We live on Turtle Cove which is on a creek, so yes we have turtle's in our back yard who also sun themselves on the logs in the creek, but we also have grey herons too.
The heron is actually grey and not bronze like the turtle. I am using the lantern with a candle with a timer. ❤️❤️❤️

Had my eye on this for a while because of the story behind it. Purchased it with a couple of friends for a good friend’s birthday. I copied the story so she would know this was a token of our friendship. She loved it. I just wish a printed copy of the story came with the purchase.
