Tariffs
An Important Message to Our Customers
July 31
The current list of tariffs has been put out by the White House and the tariff pause has concluded. We remain at approximately 80% for our cast metal goods; negotiations with China are not finalized. See current list of country-specific tariffs.

What happens when the 90-day pause is over?
No one knows if the tariffs on aluminum and the country of origin tariffs will change again.
What is the cumulative effect of the tariff fluctuations?
When tariffs reached 145% earlier in the year, the flow of goods from China stopped for more than 30 days, creating a backlog of container volume similar to the supply chain crisis of a few years ago after COVID. US Customs is taking longer to examine every container that does come into port, causing extra expenses and delay. We're already seeing dramatic increases in container pricing.

While we are encouraged by the recent reduction in tariffs, the cumulative effect of tariffs this year has resulted in a substantial 55% total increase from last year, with the latest adjustment adding 10%. We've absorbed as much of this cost as possible, and to continue offering you the same high-quality, beautifully crafted pieces you love, a price adjustment has become necessary. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Recent changes in international trade policies, specifically the implementation of new tariffs on imported goods, are affecting businesses like ours. These tariffs act as taxes on goods manufactured in other countries, leading to a rise in our operational costs. A variable set of parameters affects the total cost of raw materials and shipping costs, particularly impacting our aluminum décor. The tariff is charged on the day our decor ships from the country of origin, and that rate is not something we can control.
We believe in transparency and want you to understand the factors influencing our pricing. At Viridan Bay, we are dedicated to providing you with innovative and high-quality products at competitive prices. Thank you for being a loyal customer. Your understanding and continued support are greatly appreciated as we adapt to these industry-wide changes. We remain committed to offering you the best products and service possible.
